TINKLING SOUND FROM CLUTCH PEDAL

Am just running in Roadsport 1.8 self build and have tracked down various

rattles but one i cant get rid of goes away if you just touch the clutch pedal,or put your foot under the clutch pedal and raise it slightly.Have adjusted the cable as the build manual says and have no trouble at all with

selecting gears and bite position, just this damn tickling sound or resonace

( i think that is the technical term).

Do i need to add extra tension to the cable and if so at what end and how.?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The car will be going back to CCM for its first service when it has done 1000m

so i could wait til then and let them sort it,but they might sort my wallet as well

Killed my Clutch cable on Saturday ☹️, Zetec cable (K doesn't fit Zetec!) fitted as temporary repair (Thanks to fellow Blue Light Blatter, 3 cars, poor showing, we had fun 😬)

I noticed same noise (buzz until slight pedal pressure). On fitting proper K series cable (unfortunately adjustable at both ends, unlike Zetec bottom only) same noise 🙆🏻 wasn't dialled out until (as you've suggested) quite a bit of pre tension on cable. As rough guide, I have the lock nuts pretty central along both top and bottom threaded sections. Whether the noise was pedal box clutch spring without tension or release mech vibrating on cable end? Dunno *confused*

1.4K SS 😬 Blue with white bits (and stonechips)
