Do i carry on or wait till brakes are bled with handbreak on and use more leaverage.. Your comments as always will be most appreciated
Colin Mill
Hi John I seem to remember that the nylocs were rather tight and one was a lot worse than the other but I got them seated with the 18 inch shifter I normally only attack the tractor with. (not a really good tool for the job but I avoided marking the nuts). Finished the job by getting a 41mm socket from tooled-up.com for under 9 quid. (see http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=28507 ). Its single hex so will stand hell. That and a 2 ft breaker bar did the trick. Torqued them up by standing on bathroom scales and looking for 100 lb of weight loss/gain with the bar out horizontal and gripping the very end of the bar - good enough for goverment work. Have fun! Oh, yes, someone standing on the footbrake saves winding the car out of the garage. Edited by - Colin Mill on 14 May 2005 18:23:
