Ferrino
Just wondering which colour front ARB the JW Fireblades are running? I will be converting my Classic front suspension to use a DD front ARB and currently have a RED one (5/8" I think), but think this may be too stiff for a BEC? Any thoughts? Or is the stiffness not really affected by the weight of the car, rather than the handling preference? Lobbying Caterham for a new badge.... david nelson
Hope all is going well. you could try the freestyle ajustable, I have not used one but a lot of sprinters do. It should give you the ability to tune the front end in to your own liking. David
Petrolhead
I would suggest the Orange (softest) and as by chance see here R500 no 65 😬
John Howe
I second David Nelson's comment. Not expensive, minutes to fit and you can adjust in seconds. JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 222bhp Sausage delivery machine
STEVE GILBERT
Thats what I have and I can honestly say I have never been in a car that corners flatter than my Blade. For info front springs 150 with wide track and rears 90lb Steve See My Caterham Fireblade Here.

Ferrino
Thanks guys, I went for the orange ARB that was for sale. I now need to get softer springs as my current setup is for the car engine and bound to be too stiff (think the fronts are 300+, rears 110+). I'm on standard track and I estimate it will end up being in ~400 Kg territory. It's going to be used on the road as well as track, so is 150:90 front:rear a good compromise? STEVE GILBERT
I think so but springs are cheap so what the hell. Steve See My Caterham Fireblade Here.
Ferrino
Sure. Are the 90lb rears progressive?
STEVE GILBERT
Not sure what you mean. As I understand it 90lb will compress them an inch, another 90lb another inch and so on. I could be talking out my 🙆🏻 but that's how I thought they worked. I also have a feeling the 'progressive type' need e.g 90lb for an inch then 120 for another inch and so get progressivly harder. Could also be talkking out my 🙆🏻 on that also Anyone confirm Steve See My Caterham Fireblade Here.
Ferrino
Yep, I thought there were 2 types of commonly used rear spring - the 'linear' and the 'progressive' type. Just wondering which was used on the Blade. Edited by - Ferrino on 15 Oct 2004 16:13:
