Martin Plant
When removing the reverser from my Blackbird I needed to remove the front prop shaft. I found that one of the grease nipples on the UJ is missing and as a consequence it has run dry and doesn't move freely at all. Is it possible to replace the bearings in the UJ or is the prop shaft scrap? Can anyone recommend somewhere to get it done? I will of course try Bailey Morris on Monday. Thanks Martin www.caterhamblackbird.com
Mr Locust
Martin, as long as the bearings haven't worn or siezed causing the bearing cups to rotate you should be able to refurb with a uj repair kit Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
Big Brother
I have just had my old propshaft shortened and converted to run on a type 9 gearbox. I used the "propshaft clinic" and am a very satisfied customer. The service was second to none and my scaby old prop came back looking like new. And it was back in two days! www.propshaft.co.uk Steve Se7en-Up! Now with added green!
Martin Plant
Thanks for the info both. I'll give the propshaft clinic people a try. I could try overhauling it myself but suspect that rebuilding the reverser is going to keep me busy. Martin www.caterhamblackbird.com

Martin Plant
Quick update: took the props to Bailey Morris on Wednesday afternoon, picked them up the following evening. UJs replaced /refurbed, props rebalanced and repainted. Look like new. Kudos to them. Martin www.caterhamblackbird.com
