frankyknuckles
does anyone know the drive size of the Halfords 200lbf tourque wrench, is it 3/8ths, half inch or what? (I want to order my 41mm socket today and can't remember the size of the converter I need)

Fred
Your 41mm socket will be 3/4 so you need a 1/2 to 3/4 converter
frankyknuckles
yep thanks, that's what I've orderd, from draper tools, but I'm not very impressed with their order web site, I still have no confirmation and I ordered it an hour ago. When I pressed the final confirm button, I expected a short wait while the card was authorised, but instead I was sent straight back to the home page???? Grubbster
I gave up with the Draper website in the end - never managed to get an order through! Bought everything from elsewhere (but you already know that!). My 41mm socket was 1/2" drive so I didn't need an adapter, and only £8.99! frankyknuckles
Grubby, so you recon because I as sent straight back to the home page my order did not get processed? I suppose I'd better call them......
Grubbster
I can't remember exactly what happened (but being returned to the homepage sounds vaguely familiar) - I had difficulties with a number of sites and this was one of them. If you havn't had an email response then get in touch with them and check. I have the phone number of Fletchers if you want it (where I got my socket from). Rob_the_Sparky
If you get the draper catalogue you can order direct from the catalogue at Halfords (not to mention a few other tool catalogues). Rob

Grubbster
Tis dun! But just in case: Fletchers Autostores 25 Great Lister Street Birmingham B7 4LS Tel. 0800 975 8008 Part - LAS1119 Laser 41mm Socket at £8.99 It is an 'impact socket' (black), not sure if that makes any difference? Mine works fine. See some photo's of my Roadsport build here

Sheds Moderator
'Impact' sockets are made of slightly softer steel with thicker walls and are usually single hex, not 12 point. This means you can use an impact driver without them splitting. In practical terms any hand tool this big is going to be indestructible unless you are King Kong.
