Big Brother Posted April 12, 2003 Share Posted April 12, 2003 I have finally traced the oil leak on my 1700 Superspring Seven. It looks like the oil is escaping past the end plate on the oil pump. This is a early type pump - with the smooth end plate. A friend says there should be a rubber "O" ring under this plate and its is probably this that has failed. Is this correct??? and if so, is the O ring easy to change in situ or does the pump need to be removed from the car?
