Timing Strut Fitting Question

Question from a newbie…..  would this timing strut be OK for sprinting and hill climbing events?

It complies with the measurements in the Blue Book - it is the fitting to the car using the number plate that I am seeking advice on from those who are more knowledgeable.

Providing your number plate is firmly attached I am sure it will be ok.  However I would be concerned if your number plate is only stuck on in case it detaches itself. there are lots of different ways people attach theirs, I connect mine through the grill.

Numerous instances of number plates coming off - kerbs, grassy excursions etc. I fix mine, as per Justin’s advice, to the grill.

Thank you for your replies, Dobson_justin and Malcolm.  I can see looking at various photos, attaching the Timing Strut to the Grill seems to be most popular.  It looks like I need to make Version 2….  😉

Here you go - fixed via 2 set screws through the timing strut flange (at right angles to the timing strut in this picture) and grill to a plate with a couple of rivnuts.
