Stu Smith
Hi all,Relatively new to trackdays, so I could be moidering over nothing. I had my car flat floored and the geo done last October. I'm not aggressive so I don't bounce over the curbs.I run pressures of 19psi adjusting throughout the day. After very few laps I get some tyre scrubbing. I had a wander around the pits at Oulton this weekend to have a look at other Caterham tyre wear, none seemed to be scrubbed like mine. The attached photos are after a 60+mile drive home. I don't get any visible tyre scrub on normal/spirited road use. Any opinions or advice.
GulfSeven
I could believe that's normal for a hard day on track if it's hot. It's a bit worse than I get on my 310R but perhaps you drive harder/have more power than me?
krisfl
Agree with Tim. Looks more like a load of pick up rather than scrubbing... And normal for a hot one. And if you've been properly set up, which it sounds like you have...I'm no expert on pressures - There is an Avon guide in the docs section on here. I usually start 18/19 cold (for 13") and adjust as you say. Avon say 22-27 HOT for the ZZS... Have a look HERE
KnifeySpoony
Yeah that's just rubber pickup. Ie someone else's rubber, not yours.
Stu Smith
Thank you. Avon recommend a lot higher tyre pressure than I've been running.
Graham Hutton
Well done! Mine looked very similar after Brands Hatch this year.
