Wrightpayne
Nick,I changed all mine to APEM brand switches 10+ years ago which have metal levers as opposed to plastic. Much better quality than the originals. They are available from Polevolt around £4 each.https://polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/Apem_Toggle_Switches.htmlIan
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 14, 2023 Member Share Posted June 14, 2023 I'm not sure what you're describing. Is the whole switch unit loose in the dash, or is the switch lever loose in the switch unit?Is the lever black flattened plastic or bright metal and round? Can you add a photo?JonathanEdited: Crossed with Ian's.
revilla
These are the part numbers for the ones with the flat plastic toggle:The "+U282" bit on the part number codes for the flat plastic toggle instead of the round metal one.RS Components stock them. Area Representative Nico506 Posted June 22, 2023 Author Area Representative Share Posted June 22, 2023 Hi AllFollowing replacement of toggle switch for the dip switch ( metal on-on type) which has three terminals numbered 1-2-3 and I have three wires with terminal 1 being blue /red, terminal 2 blue , terminal 3 blue /white - I have connected the wires in the same way as the original switch - but now have no headlights /main beam. Fuses have been checked all ok,has anyone any information or advice on how to fix this as Electrics is not one of my strong points Thanks
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 22, 2023 Member Share Posted June 22, 2023 Do you have a multimeter and would you like the appropriate wiring digram? Here are the standard wiring colours....First let's check that you have the right sort of switch. Please add a link to what you bought....If there's no guidance with the switch then you need to check which terminals are connected when. The centre terminal is probably the input which should be connected to one and and only one of the others at a time.Jonathan
