Roger Ford
Don't suppose anyone's got the display unit from an ACES Sureshift shift light? Maybe because the control unit has died?I seem to have a broken wire in mine, and while I could rewire it, it's going to be a challenge to my soldering skills. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted June 12, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted June 12, 2022 Roger, I had a duff wire in mine and managed to solder it fine with just a basic soldering iron, easier than I expected it to be.Stu.
Roger Ford
If the wire was broken in the display unit itself that wouldn't be a problem, but I think it's broken in the main lead. Which means shortening the lead, and resoldering all the wires and the earth. Not insurmountable, but quite a big job.

Roger Ford
I've emailed Julian, yes.
Roger Ford
Julian has replied. New light unit is £62.40 inc postage and VAT, which seems reasonable, but he's suggested I send it to him with a view to repair.

7 wonders of the world
Or ditch the Aces and the big under dash box and use these excellent little DRE unitshttp://www.caraddiction.co.uk/sld5.htm
Roger Ford
The big under-dash box doesn't bother me and I find the ACES very effective in use and highly customisable. The max-revs feature is useful to see how badly I've over-revved it in a messed-up gearchange ("First? I wanted third you b******d"). Also the special Caterham bracket allows me to fit my tonneau cover under it.

Roger Ford
Fixed FOC and returned within a couple of days. Despite me telling him that I bought it secondhand 17 years ago. That's what I call customer service!I'll be making a donation to charity in thanks.
