Eric McLoughlin
I'm a very infrequent poster on Blatchat these days but my Seven is now back in action and I think it is time I looked at some new tyres, primarilly for road use. I currently have a very old (although loads of thread left) Bridgestone RE720s which I put on when I was doing a spot of sprinting. The details shown on the tyre are -135/60R13I would like to replace them with something more suited for general road use. The car is on 13'' Minilites (I think). It's a 1996 Classic SE. Wrightpayne
The popular touring tyre is 185/70R13 Uniroyal Rainexpert (or rainsport cannot remember which).I've not used them on the seven but many others have.
Eric McLoughlin
Thanks. I presume the 70R relates to the radius of the tyre? The Bridgestones are 60R which is rather undersized for the wheel and has meant that the speedo hasn't really given an accurate speed or mileage reading while they have been fitted (that's my excuse Officer). Tony Whitley
That's right Eric, 70% profile (height/width) so 70Rs have a bit bigger diameter. I doubt you have 135R60 tyres, they're probably for a 2CV!

Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted April 12, 2022 Area Representative Share Posted April 12, 2022 Pity Uniroyal do not produce Rainmasters in 205 or 215/55 13" size then I would buy them just for price alone. With 8" rears choice is limited - ZZS or R888R ?? North of £500 for four corners !
