Front brake replacement

I found that Mintex 1144 created a lot of dust which possibly contributed to a caliper seizing. I couldn't unseize the caliper so replaced it with with a new one and changed both discs and pads for EBC standard road use types.

Unless a lot of time is spent on a track I am not convinced of the need to upgrade the brakes unless there is a front/rear balance issue to correct. The standard brakes will quickly lock the wheels at most speeds but the higher performance kit will cope better with being worked hard.

Uprated pads front or rear may shift the balance in a more favourable direction or dangerously unfavourable if you get it wrong.

Most if not all uprated pad compounds are specified for track use only so could lead to insurance problems, may have additional bedding in steps and very uprated pads might not be so good from cold.
