SM25T
Try local garage with a press. Takes seconds.
Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted April 2, 2019 Area Representative Share Posted April 2, 2019 Depending on the age of the car & condition they should almost fall out as they are flat race bearings.
SM25T
I was glad I didn't try and drift mine in when they were replaced .... it was quite a solid push with an hydraulic press.
DonDP
Have a friendly local garage, will just pop down there with the assembly if they don’t fall out!will I need to remove the hub from the ear in order to use a hydraulic press?
Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted April 3, 2019 Area Representative Share Posted April 3, 2019 Yes you will need to remove the bearing carrier from the ear. It is attached by four bolts & nuts.I had to remove both of my bearing carriers at year three after the build for other work & the bearings came out without too much manual persuasion so I could re-lube them. As I said depends on the age of the car, condition of the carrier & bearings.
