BigCol
As an aside/out of interest, what did you upgrade your (just front?) brakes to?
Leadership Team Simon Maitland Posted October 28, 2018 Author Leadership Team Share Posted October 28, 2018 Hi Col,I was happy with the rear brakes but wanted big stoppers up front.
BigCol
With the extra performance a wise (and comparatively inexpensive) precaution.Sorry Simon, I meant what did you upgrade with...? eg Caterham Big brakes, AP, HiSpec Ultralights, something else...? rj
Are the front brakes the old Triumph type or the later Caterham branded ones?
Leadership Team Simon Maitland Posted November 21, 2018 Author Leadership Team Share Posted November 21, 2018 Hello rjThey have no Caterham branding on them but I have just looked on the Caterham web site and they appear to be part Reference: 64032669 Front Caliper. Hope this helps.Simon
rj
Thank you. Unfortunately I'm still not sure. I think it's the Triumph type.Just to be sure what it is you have, could you measure the diameter of the discs for me?I am after the later type that use 10 inch discs (same diameter as the uprated vented discs) - I would like to try them on my car as I reckon the kit is lighter than the vented but better than the Triumphs. simon_h
That number Simon gives goes to the iron triumph type caliper. The new ap ally ones are almost the same as an Elise front caliper if you wanted to get an idea of weight. You are obviously aware to use them you need complete new front upright assemblies. rj
Simon H,That was what I was dreading. Unsure if there was an intermediate version, especially when the calipers had the Caterham logo.Simon M,Unfortunately this is not what I'm after :-(
