Dobson_justin
For the speed championship I think I need a headrest support from the roll bar to support the back of the Tillett headrest. I have about 7-9cm gap currently. Has anyone else done this and if so, how? Thanks
elie boone
Do a search on the CC website, this will give you an idea how it's done. it's easy to make something yourself.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted December 4, 2017 Support Team Share Posted December 4, 2017 Something like this: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/other/5471-head-restraint-to-metric-cages.html?search_query=head&results=185That one's for metric FIA bar/cage. Mark Durrant
I think I have what you need, do you have a Cage or FIA bar?
Dobson_justin
Thanks for your responses. Really helpful. Mark, I have a roll bar. Send me a message if you have the right thing. Thanks
Dobson_justin
I saw the head restraint on cc by the way, but cannot see how that works as the pic is rubbish. How does it attach to the roll bar?
Support Team Shaun_E Posted December 5, 2017 Support Team Share Posted December 5, 2017 If you have the roll-bar with a double cross-brace, there should be 2 holes - one in each brace, just behind the headrest. A bracket is attached with bolts to those 2 holes and then the long threaded bar of the support goes through the bracket secured by a nut either side. Sorry, I can't find a decent picture to show it. Dobson_justin
Thanks. I have a single diagonal bar, and no holes to attached this to, so need to find another solution.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted December 5, 2017 Support Team Share Posted December 5, 2017 For the single diagonal bar, there was a 2 piece support - half of it is this: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/headrests/3521-steady-bracket-headrest-assembly-fia-de-dion.html?search_query=head+rest&results=13 and the other part had the plate on it a well as a similar "U" clamp but Caterham don't seem to list that anymore. You'll have to put a wanted request out to see if anyone has one kicking around. I'll have a look and see if I've still got mine from years ago.

mcerbm
I would also be interested in these parts too if anyone viewing this thread has 2nd hand spares going.
Solo
I've got a complete headrest support (supplied with a 2003 R300 that had a single diagonal FIA bar). It's never been fitted but it's been hanging in the garage roof for 14 years so may need a clean! PM me if you'd like it - pretty sure it won't fit my 420R so useless to me.CheersSteve
