RogerB Posted June 7, 2017 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Thought I would check the oil level on my Seirra diff at 3000 miles by removing the filler plug. Level ok as some oil ran out, however I was surprised by the colour - a pale grey. Is this normal and is it caused by the LSD additive. thompster Posted June 9, 2017 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I have a standard sierra open diff. Changed the oil soon after getting it on 10k miles. The oil was grey and the magnetic plug was visibly doing its job. Noise-wise and backlash aside I get a whine when hot at 50mph. TADTS. Just some more than others.
