teembo
Just checked my tyre pressure for the first time (I know) in preparation for a long trip. Running Avon ZZ1 (I know) 205/45 R16 on my VVC SV.They were at 19/20psi but the build manual recommends 16psi, so I brought them down to that. What would be the collective wisdom for a long road trip fully laden ?Thanks in anticipation.
Area Representative bluenose Posted September 2, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted September 2, 2016 16 will probably be fine. With 16" wheels you are going to have stiff sidewalls anyway.
Mort
I'd run them at the book pressure as a matter of course, but might take them up by a couple of psi if particularly heavily loaded.
Q Catcher
I used to have the same, did similar road trips, and ran happily at 16psi.(How old are those ZZ1s?)
teembo
OK, thanks for that. I'll see how we go at 16psi. It's not THAT laden. The car is an 03 but I think the tyres were new when I bought it a couple of years ago.
