Area Representative Kingsley Young Posted August 7, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted August 7, 2016 I have a vibration that I feel pretty sure is the heat shield, other than removing it, has anyone got any ideas on how to resolve the problem? Rex
I've had this problem several times on my SV. You don't have to jack the car up to fix the problem. If you look underneath, there are aluminum slots on the underside of the shield. The hose clamps (jubilee clips) that run through these slots are usually shot. Make sure to replace them with stainless steel units. This is a simple job. If the aluminum slots are broken off (as mine were), you can bypass them entirely by running the stainless steel clamps through the holes in the heat shield. You can do this in such a way that they are hardly noticeable. A permanent fix!
