Duckpit
My SS is now 21 years old and the pads never changed. Do pads deteriorate with age ?? There are better materials for pads now, so which ones should I go for and where do i get them? Cheers
Mankee
Wow, that's amazing! Have they done many miles? Pads can absorb moisture over time. What calipers does your Supersprint use? The "standard" Triumph Herald Girling calipers?
MADMALC
Please put some new ones in to be on the safe side.I have found that older pads tend to be very soft and a big heat cycle turns them to dust. They are very very cheap, you know it make sense. Duckpit
I have had the car for 16 years and never changed them, car has done 23k, and there is still meat on them. Its a standard spitfire caliper. So which pads are best & where do I get them, I see Caterham have no stock as usual N
BlackSeven
I'm using EBC Greenstuff pads with these calipers and have no complaints. Plenty of EBay shops selling these at under £30 including P&P. Just search under "Spitfire Greenstuff" and you'll see plenty of seller choices.Rob

Mankee
Mintex M1144s are also a good choice and around the same sort of price. The pad shape you need for standard calipers should be MGB533:http://www.whybee.co.uk/mintex-mgb533m1144-mgb533-mintex-m1144-racing-brake-pads-fast-road-track.htmlIf you want, I can give you the email address of my friend who co-runs the above company and he may be able to knock a bit off, as he's supplied Mintex pads to a few other club members, including myself, especially as I seem to get through M1144s every few trackdays.
