Member Jonathan Kay Posted December 7, 2015 Member Share Posted December 7, 2015 Coffee and a walk. Dash lighting up? Any hint of firing? Is it cranking well? Voltage directly across the battery at rest and during cranking?Amended: What Julian says. Reset inertia cut-off switch.Jonathan
Alan Reeves
Thanks guys.we went back played around with a couple of electric connectors, disconnected tge speedo set up ( strange but Gary on the Italian trip did that when his stopped, he knew tge symptoms )re tried and it fired up...don't ask me me why.....however it's hunting like a bad dog....CC said they would sort it but really we would like to do it....it's as if there was an air shortage, some kind of sensor issue?Did the coffeeit cranks wellwe had done inertia thing a few timesSo nearly another 360r .....bit heavier than Julian's weight watcher specialthanks alan
Member Jonathan Kay Posted December 7, 2015 Member Share Posted December 7, 2015 :-)however it's hunting like a bad dog....CC said they would sort it but really we would like to do it....it's as if there was an air shortage, some kind of sensor issue?Does that occur at all throttle openings? It's worth inspecting and wiggling the connections to the sensors. But maybe it just needs a walk in addition to the coffee...Jonathan
Alan Reeves
Really strange. originally it ticked over but it would cut out if throttle applied. The next stage is it ticked over and seemed ok but any throttle brought about an immediatehunting scenario and would not allow any form of high revs, not even 2000. if left it would eventuallyfall back to a normal tick over but not happy getting there. The large plastic air box has a little rubber attachment not unlike a very small straight balloon. well this little piece of apparatus was clearly involved in whatever is happening where it gets sucked flat and sometimes expands back. no idea what its for and never seen before - any 360 R s out there who could comment. Certainly was not on my pervious 175.alan

Julian H
You can scoff Alan but I wish I had 360bhp/tonne, sadly woefully shy of that at the mo... J

Leadership Team Garry7 Posted December 8, 2015 Leadership Team Share Posted December 8, 2015 Al,the rubber thing is on mine (on the plastic plenum) so guess it's meant to be there.Garry
griffchris
I finished my 420R build a month or so ago, and had similar 1st start issues, it was only firing on 2 cylinders. Eventually it was traced to a faulty ECU, replaced at PBC. Are all 4 exhaust primaries heating up - you should see even discolouration?
