Superwhite R283
Thanks for the replies chaps A little bit of a range in thoughts: 8nm, 11nm (8lb/ft) and 18nm. Ive polished them up and the new bolts are on route
Superwhite R283
Supplier of the bolts recommend 20ft/lb (27Nm)?
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted November 3, 2015 Leadership Team Share Posted November 3, 2015 The originals used nylock nuts, the replacements likely won't. I've re-used the old nylocks perfectly satifactorily with new bolts - black bolts look best - and torquing a nylock is hit and miss anyway. Superwhite R283
I think i might go mid way between all the suggestions and then use a little loctite
2GBR
Just looked on a box of bolts supplied from Mike for his MB wheels and sealing silicone = Hi Modulus Dow Corning 785, Black cap heads, with plain stainless washer and stainless nylocks torqued to 18Nm / 13 ft lbs, Really much easier if you have an extra hand to hold the cap heads from turning
Paul McKenzie
I know these are not mags, but just a note that if you have mag centres you should use plated bolts
