sundaedriver
A bit of a novice question. I have 6x13 rims with 175/55's on the front and 8x13 with 205/55's on the rear (Avon CR500's on an R300). I'm looking to buy a new set of tyres and it looks as though the Avon ZZR or ZZS are more readily available. Would 185/55's and 215/55's fit onto these rims? assuming there is clearence either side of the tyre!

Area Representative Bizzielizzie13 Posted September 23, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted September 23, 2015 The CR500 is still available, if you like them? Try the Birmingham Motor Tyre Repository, they are Avon Motorsport stockists & know what they are about.
sundaedriver
I have got on okay with the CR500's, but then I have nothing else to compare them with as this is the only set I've used. Would there be any advantage in taking them up a size? Other than a bit more rubber on the road? I am hoping to work towards having a spare set of rims & tyres for the odd track day, so maybe another set of CR500's would be best, I will have a chat with Birmingham Motor Tyre though! Thanks for your comments.
Gary Stone
I have them on my SLR. They fit fine on mine.
sundaedriver
If I can get hold of a set of CR500's I may stick with those, if not it looks as though I will need to go up a size to the ZZS / ZZR. Thanks
Julian H
Stick with CR500's if you can
6speedmanual
The CR500 is a much better suited tyre to a Caterham.
