glasgow
I would like to fit a clutch pedal stop. I am sure there is a few threads about this in the archive but unfortunately the search engine produced unrelated topics. Can anyone please post a link to a topic. Thank you Ahmed
DJ.
The stop is just a length of threaded rod that passes through the footwell. It needs a flat plate fixed on the end and two nuts to adjust the position and lock it in place. Also make sure you have large steel washers either side of the aluminium to spread the load. SM25T
And tapered washers both sides of aluminium if fitting to sloping wall panel ... so threaded rod is positioned horizontally to line of force from pedal
Grubbster
Mines fitted in the pedal box, the top part of the pedal hits it rather than in the footwell. Same for my throttle pedal.
ECR
Mine's in the pedal box as well. It's a lot more rigid there and more convenient to adjust
glasgow
I like the idea of fitting it in the pedal box. Any pics please?
Mark w
What's the recommended procedure for checking the position of the stop ? My car has a hydraulic clutch , I recently moved the pedal position and angle , how do I correctly reset the position of the pedal stop ?
DJ.
My personal theory when setting the clutch stop, was to set it just far enough to allow the clutch to fully release. Any extra travel is unnecessary, and I assume will put extra stress on the hydraulic components.
glasgow
To fully release the reverse gear.
