Dry sump tower cap & dipstick

As above - Ive just bought a secondahand DS tower for my K series dry sump, but it doesnt have the cap or internal dipstick.  Its a long shot as I dont suppose anyone would have spares, but on the off chance, does any one have one?

Photos of the full assembly are here http://www.margel.net/oldcaterham/images/drysump_tower.JPG

Im after the cap with the 7 logo and the larger knurled cap.

Im also going to on the lookout for the longer braided hose and a suitable blank for the existing port on the belltank.

I'm also on the lookout for this part, I left mine in a car park in Spain *ranting* Caterham have non in stock and when they get a batch made they charge around £80!

Maybe we could borrow one, measure it and get a friendly engineer to machine some copies? I'm sure there are others that require this part, maybe a post in the general forum may increase numbers.

Currently a cut down 12mm cap head bolt does the job.

Incase Stu Forshaw cant find his spare cap behind his 19 spare SLR wheels, ( *byebye* ), and knowing that Caterham dont have stock and Titan won't supply me with a cap, does anyone have any bright ideas how I can seal the DS tower?

The only thing I can think of is to buy an M12 blanking plug from Think Automotive like the ones on this page http://www.thinkauto.com/acatalog/On_line_shop_BSP___Metric_male__251.html

Ebay like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAPP-SKINDICHT-52103103-BLANKING-PLUG-BRASS-ATEX-M12-QTY-PK10-/221381428077

Or Farnells like this http://uk.farnell.com/lapp-kabel/52103103/blanking-plug-brass-atex-m12-pk10/dp/1852380

I can make a dip stick out of some welding rod or a wire coat hanger, but I can't stop oil coming out without a cap! Until I can sort a cap out, all the bit for my tower conversion will sit on the work bench.

Tom,  If you are making an oil dipstick, the equivalent distances of the max/min on the cap dipstick from the bottom of the d/sump tank are:

Max mark 10" up from bottom of tank

Min mark 9" up from bottom of tank

When dropping your dipstick in, make sure it gets to the bottom of the d/s tank (inside face of blue plate) because theres a small lip at one side which it can rest on giving an erroneous measurement.Thick welding wire with a couple of notches filed in is ideal.  Very thick rod (eg 6mm like mine) is bad cos it drags out loads of oil when dipping, so keep surface area of the rod to a minimum.

(Oh, and make sure the stick is long enough thatv there's a bit sticking out the top of the tower when you drop irt in!! *rofl**wobble*)

I'm hoping that CC will order a small batch of the genuine cap/ dipstick in. I've been speaking to Darren at CC Parts, and they are in discussion with Titan to order a few.  Thanks for the measurements, they'll be useful if I have to make one up.
