Silverback
Worst steering judder at 50mph+ motorway speeds this evening. Can't figure out what it can be as motorway journey a few days ago didn't seem to have any issues. The only difference I can think of was I was driving with half hood on tonight. Am I going mad or could the at-speed buffeting of the half hood be the issue - it has some billowing/slack going (no matter how much I tighten the straps) and seemed to be juddering at the same frequency of the steering. The juddering also seemed to come and go without any major change in road surface or speed. Anyone else had the same?! Have gone aero now so can test the difference tomorrow at some point. Stationary M25 Traveller
And wheel nuts and front bearings for play. Maybe a balance weight has come unstuck ?
Silverback
Yes, have tried/checked all the obvious things. Saturday M25 was fine, today wasn't. Will try aero tomorrow and on a different set of wheels/tyres to see if I can replicate...
mav
one thing at a time otherwise if you change 2 or 3 things and it solves the problem you won't know which one fixed it / was at fault...

Yep, if I get time I am planning an A1M run for a few junctions (aero) and then come back to change wheels and do the same again.
