6speedmanual
Hi folk Through some random button pressing I have managed to put my Stack dash (R400/500 ST8100) into metric. Odo, trip and speedo all in Km. Any ideas on the sequence to put back to miles? Thanks Peter

6speedmanual
Brill, thanks Mark! I must have tried every combo except that one! Just off on my annual Scotblat trip. 6th consecutive year. Catch up on a club night sometime. Peter

Grim Reaper
Could you do me a favour? Put Stack onto voltage option, and turn the heater on (with the engine running) What effect if any does the heater have on the voltage reading? And then does it have an effect on the oil tem and pressure readings as well?
Doug phillips
If i do that, the water temp goes up by 10. I was told the it was a earth problem, but have never managed to sort it out
Markiebabes
*arrowup* mine does this ☹️ I've learnt to live with it but if there's a fix 😬 is it just a bad earth ?
Grim Reaper
So they all seem to do it...I've cleaned up all the connections I can get at but the heater and instruments are on the same feed (teed at the heater switch) so this suggests that it's not a bad earth but the voltage drop caused by the heater pulling current causes the readings to go up/down depending on whether the senders go up/down in resistance. I've only noticed it because I'm using a very thin running in oil after a rebuild and have been paying particular attention to the oil pressure. Changing the oil for my usual stuff this weekend so I'll be less worried once that's done.
