flaps7 Posted April 22, 2013 Share Posted April 22, 2013 What thoughts on additives to LA diff (I am looking to overfill by 0.5ltr) and additives to 5 speed gearbox. The car is 1.6Vx and mainly road use. I do loose some oil from gearbox where speedo cable enters gbox (I think) and will have to tackle this at some point but as I understand it is an engine out job I am trying to put it off for as long as possible. elie boone Posted April 22, 2013 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Why would u need additives ? do you have any problems with the gearbox or the diff ? the seal at the angle drive for the speedo can be changed in situ, however it's not straight forward to do. I confess that I have not had problems with diff or gbox but seem to remember seeing some comments regarding additive to diff although searching archives I cannot find anything. Possibly my memory failing. I would love to replace the seal at the angle drive so as it is possible in situ I'll have a go. Any tips?
