garagehermit
Can anyone make any suggestions as to how to access the bolt next to the block (the other two are easy) without removing half the engine ancillaries? (p.s. I don't have a tiny hand with an iron grip, multi jointed wrist and built- in torque wrench!).thx
Grubbster
If you mean the top one then no, I couldn't get anything on to be able to turn it on mine so I fitted a slightly narrower bolt that passed all the way through the bell housing so I could put a nut on it, which was a bit easier. I know of others who haven't bothered fitting one at all and Caterham seem to suggest this is OK.
Grubbster
If it is the lower bolt you are struggling with then you do it using a series of extension bars and a wobble bar - like this
Area Representative Katie Posted August 11, 2013 Area Representative Share Posted August 11, 2013 Hi Have just taken my starter motor out. To get at the difficult bolt I took the oil filter off and then used a ball end hex key. Hope this helps. Good luck with yours. Ivan
Z3MCJez
You can get to it with extension bars and angle joints. If its not too tight the. You can use he bendy extensions, but is likely to be too tight to start with. You don't need to put it back on! Jez
