Jochen
Looking for a CATERHAM wet sump pan for a HPC Vauxhall 2.0 XE 16V. Anyone gone to a dry sump system & have one of these in good nick lurking in the corner of their garage ? Cheers, Jochen Edited by - Jochen on 29 Jan 2012 21:06:26 Edited by - Jochen on 3 Jun 2012 07:38:

Jochen
Hi, need something much lower than the orign part. Currently i use the QED low sump configuration (about 100 mm deep) but there isn't enough clearence under my engine. The Caterham wet sump is only 70 mm deep at the front and i hope that gives enough space to keep it live...
keybaud
Don't mean to be rude, but if you'd said what you wanted in the first post... Anyway, to get more ground clearance either raise the suspension or use higher profile tyres. I had 49mm under my sump with CR500s, so swapped to AO21Rs on a 70 profile at the front and 60 at the rear.
Jochen
Now i begin to see... I've set up the suspension as high as possible without loose the balance. At the moment i have 185/60 13 A048's at front. But i want to swap to the Caterham wet sump with the new engine that i build at the moment and also to 15 " wheels if i can catch some lightweight ones. EFA
to get more ground clearance either raise the suspension or use higher profile tyres You should first raise the engine so the belt cover is 1mm below the bonnet. Raise the gearbox mount too if necessary. Trim the grp or carbon on the trailing edge of your nosecone to allow the engine to sit as high as possible. All the aftermarket sumps (QED, SBD etc) are designed for transverse engines. The Caterham sump pan is unique. But its also very obsolete and most of them that do exist are either in use or destroyed. Someone needs to approach Titan for a bulk buy.
