Boss Hogg
The track day rollover bar supplied with the Supersport S3 I'm building has a forward leaning angle (a few inches). Do all the rollover bars have a forward lean? I am curious because it fouls on the seats (new GT style) so you cannot get them fully back leaving a 2.75" gap between the seatback and rear bulkhead (resulting in 2.75" less legroom ). Laurence Wilson
It sure is a feature of every FIA bar I have seen. It might just be an optical illusion ('cos the rear facing diagonals fixed lower down on the chassis, I believe) but the earlier live axle chassis FIA bars lean even further forward than current bars. Drumster
I always assumed it was to do with the triangulation when the Petty strut is fitted IYSWIM.
myothercarsa2cv
I got an even taller tall bar made and the lean meant it would hit my head because I have to put my seats all the way back. Caged sorted this out in double quick time and knocked me up an upright one - I now have loads of clearance, and they gave me a longer petty strut too. Would thoroughly recommend talking to them if you need to get the seats right back. The roof won't fit, but you won't use that too often anyway Edited by - myothercarsa2cv on 9 Jan 2012 10:24:
