quickie - Head Light loom plugs

I'm not sure of the technical term but inside the headlight bowl there is a three pin plug (the pins are thin and rectangular) which slots into the back of the bulb assembly.

I have some new headlights (different make - Cibie Oscars), that also take a 3 pin plug.

The old plug physically fits in the new headlight. Will it work? I want to keep the old wiring/plug if possible (for various reasons) and just plug it into the new headlight

Might be worth giving the connectors a good looking over. I recently was blowing the fuse on dipped beam and traced the fault to the connector which was allowing the earth to short with the dipped beam wire.

Some connectors allow the terminals to be extremely close to each other and, over time when the plastic gets warm, they can allow the contact.

You may be OK but they are easily replaceable and available.
