TomB Posted November 21, 2011 Share Posted November 21, 2011 Having recently fitted an Emerald ECU, I have noticed that the secondhand unit I bought didnt have any rubber caps over the two PC connection sockets. Does anyone know where I can get them from or have any lurking they could post me? Maplin couldnt supply them, so thats me stumped, apart from scouring the internet which I havnt had a chance to do yet Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The plug is 9 pin D-Sub type, I scrounged a couple from a friendly IT person who had just bought some new serial leads which happened to have the protective covers fitted. Some duct tape works just as well 😬 However, I doubt the covers will actually do any good overall (if I was building the device I would use a sealed version) -- but I have not taken my emerald apart to find out what kind of connectors they use. I imagine they are decent, so I wouldn't worry. Many people have the ECUs under the bonnet and probably never put a dust cap on both connectors. Do you think I can find any , what makes it double 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 is that it was muggins who put the PC's out with the users.
