Wheel spacers

Has anyone ever fitted whell spacers and longer studs on the front of their 7. I have some spare wheels and the offset is a bit too much and the wheels rub on the wing supports and thought that I could use spacers.

I would not recommend on the front but, yes I have used spacers on the rear after the wider tyres I purchased just touched the tub on occasions. 😳

 

Hope this helps.... but like I said front would be a different matter..

I fitted some thin spacers to the front of mine. If it's to get the right offset on the wheels, then it shouldn't affect the steering or handling. My car has Triumph studs (later cars have Ford studs) so I got longer studs from Jigsaw Racing.

As a minor correction to the ET (offset) value of a wheel - no problem with spacers so long as there is sufficient thread engagement. (agreeing with Oliver)

 

As a means to significantly widen track (width between centerline of front wheels - Not recommended! Causes havoc with steering geometry and supension rates and wheel bearings/hub loadings.

Run 6mm spacers and long studs back and front on the YOB

No issues with steering etc

While racing I used 3mm spacers on rears to increase clearance as on hard cornering was getting some rubbing against side impact bar, worked a treat.
