Chris Wells
Hi Exhaust shield from 2003 Rover engined 1.6 Roadsport. Painted black with VHT paint. The paint is slightly scuffed in one area, but no dents or scratches. Would easily tidy up or if you are keen, strip back to alluminum. £34 from Caterham, Im asking £8.00 plus postage and packing. Happy to supply photos if required. Chris Edited by - chris wells on 19 Oct 2011 21:07:
gin-fizz-whizz
Possible interest as some kid stood on mine at a show and I've never managed to quite get in back to perfect shape. How would you go about stripping the paint as I'm after the polished ali finish? Thanks
Chris Wells
Hi I painted it with VHT paint which is ok but scuffed too easily (A long story). I would use some wet and dry paper, going from rough to smooth and then finally polish with metalpolish such as solvoautosol. Starting with paint stripper might also work, especially around the slots. Not a ten minute job, but the shield is not dented or marked so should come up fine. A silver one has just gone for £30 on Pistonheads so £8 is very cheap. Regards Chris Edited by - Chris Wells on 13 Oct 2011 21:07:
