Yellow 7
Jumped in the car last night for a quick blat only to be confronted with a lack of dipped beam headlights. The side lights are working and so are the main beams if I 'flash' them, but no dipped or mains from the toggle or main swith. Have checked fuses, all ok. Any ideas? Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 29, 2011 Member Share Posted September 29, 2011 Assuming you've lost both dipped lights and you haven't played with anything nearby recently I'd suspect one of those switches, and would test it by bypassing the switches with some cable and seeing if the lights come on. speakmp
Hi Matt Had exactly this a couple of months back just before a track day. Checked everything and it turned out to be the relay had blown. Halfords, 7 odd quid, 2 mins to fit and job done. Good luck PeteSV edited to add: - I tried swapping light switche with a friends as thought this would be the key, but it didnt fix. In the end we found it by swapping my relays around (next to the fuses) HTH Edited by - speakmp on 29 Sep 2011 15:39:
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 29, 2011 Member Share Posted September 29, 2011 If you want to start with testing the relay you could use a multimeter or bulb on a wire to see if the feed from the switch to the relay is going live when you switch the switch. Gavin H
Is it the switch? They can be a bit sh!t... Worth checking that with a multimeter if you have one.

Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 30, 2011 Member Share Posted September 30, 2011 Dodgy, or just run out of smoke? The refill kit isn't available any more. Jonathan
