Star cracks

Just noticed I have a couple on the rear wings, probably only a couple of cm across but will they get bigger?

When I finished the kit nearly 4yrs ago I should have painted the underside of the wings with some sort of underseal to try & prevent this but I suppose it's never too late.

What do people use? I'd prefer to brush it on rather than spray it, to stop me & the car getting covered in goo.

The only thick underseal I could find at Halfords was Hammerite like this

 

It wasn't as rubbery as I would have liked, but went on quite thickly with a brush. It takes ages to dry though.

I used some sort of rubberised roofing paint from B&Q. Gave the front & rear wings 2 coats. But, alas, I do have one star crack, but then again, I may have had many more if I hadn't used it.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not too concerned at this stage, I'm actualy quite proud of all the various stone chips on the rear wings, it means the car is being used but in the Winter off season I think I'll have a go, best get the wings as clean as possible first & perhaps lightly keyed to give the goo something to stick to.

Nice quick run down to the East Kent meet tonight, sometimes the car feels really quick, must have just been that with only me & hardly any petrol left in the tank it was as light as possible tonight

I used a couple of thick coats of the Hammerite underseal that DJ linked to.
