Caterham Superlight 1600 No.151. Factory built 2001. Caterham Red. 24,700 miles.

My Superlight is for sale. I am the second owner, having bought used in May 2005 from Caterham Cars. Regrettably for sale because I simply don't use it enough these days ☹️ following the arrival of our now 19 mth old son *smile*, so it is time to let it go to a new home...

 

ENGINE:

1600SS EU3 k-series engine (135bhp)

Apollo air/oil separator tank

Caterham & Samco silicone coolant hoses

FIA master switch

4-1 (long primaries) Caterham 'Competition' exhaust system with 6" silencer

Standard catalyst exhaust system (4-1 under-bonnet manifold) also supplied

 

TRANSMISSION:

Caterham 6 speed box (fully serviced by Road & Race in Feb 2008)

3.92:1 ZF LSD (fully serviced by Road & Race in Feb 2008, with correct ramp angles and pre-load to suit a Caterham)

New AP Racing uprated clutch plate and cover fitted in Mar 2008 (along with new CRB and fork)

 

BRAKES/CHASSIS:

Superlight wide track front suspension

Freestyle AVO adjustable dampers (original Bilstein dampers/springs with adjustable platforms available FOC)

Superlight uprated 4-pot front brakes

AP Racing uprated 'Race' brake master cylinder

Pagid brake pads (RS15 front, RS14 rear)

Braided rear brake hoses

Clutch and throttle pedal stops

 

EXTERIOR:

FIA rollbar (incl Petty Strut which has never been fitted)

Carbon nose (with unpainted band)

Carbon front wings (unpainted)

Carbon rear wings (with carbon protectors)

Black Pack

Caterham anthracite 6x13" 8 spoke wheels with 185/60R13 Yokohama AO48's (Soft front, Medium rear) with lots of life still in the tread

Carbon dash with Superlight plaque

Composite Tillet seats

6 point driver & passenger race harnesses

Alloy gearknob

Red starter button

Momo 260 leather steering wheel with Racetech quick release

Full weather equipment (incl Hi-Vis hood and hood bag)

Caterham tonneau with Tillet pockets & closeable Petty Strut aperture

Handheld 'Caterham Motorsport' branded fire extinguisher in passenger footwell

 

SERVICING/MOT/TAX:

The car has a full service history (Caterham Cars and their authorised service agents) up to 2007. Since 2008 I have fully serviced and maintained the car myself (parts receipts available).

New Banner battery installed Apr 2009

MOT valid until May 2011

Road Tax until end Feb 2011

Thanks Paul, YHM back about the aeroscreen.

 

Folks, I've had several Blatmails asking after the aeroscreen. As stated, the aeroscreen 1st dibs will go to the car's buyer. If they don't want it I will then list it in a separate thread... sorry if there was ambiguity about the aero's availablity at this stage.

Price seems fair-ish I think although there's a lot of competition at this spec/age so I guess the trip to Scotland may put some people off as there a quite a few similar ish cars down south.

 

(selfishly I hope it doesn't sell as it is just the sort of thing I'm after but I'm not looking to buy until the end of the Summer!)

Just going to send this to you LUrk,

 

You could have a blat with irrotational when you go to pick it up, and it is the colour you wanted! I would love to buy if I had another 4k
