VHPD/SLR - IACV

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a photo of an AICV in situ on a VHPD/SLR so I can see exactly what I am looking for and where ?

Can they be cleaned ?

Where can I buy a new one from as Caterham do not stock them ?

Many thanks

Sturt

Haven't got a photo but it's located in the middle of the TB's. Just follow the wires until you nget to it

They are easy enough to clean with carb cleaner or something similar - but be very careful when taking it apart as the internal spring leap out over your shoulder & onto the garage floor, never to be seen again

The plunger can get coated in all sorts of crap which causes it to stick so a good clean will sort it out and it only takes a few minutes

You can buy the unit new from any Unipart or Rover dealer but they cost about £80.00!!

How do you get the dead flies off your teeth....... 😬 R5AAH

Hi Stuart,

BM me and I can send a pic as I have a set of the Rover SLR TBs in a box.

I'm assuming you have the Rover-based ones? There are also some 'VHPD' TBs on the market, which don't have an IACV fitted. Minister were selling a couple on ebay a while back.

I'll have a look and see if I have any spare IACVs - they are the same as all the EU2 Rover engine versions..

Cheers - Simon
