K9/DITP style front wings and 215 section tyres

Are these wings (as now sold by RiF) wide enough to cover a 215 section tyre?

I was originally thinking of changing to the CSR wings but they are very expensive and require a modified wing stay to fit an S3 car. The DITP style ones should fit on the normal wingstay and are half the price.

Hi Shaun

I have K9 wings on my car and just tried a 215 Kumho under the other day, it does fit but is quite tight , my wingstays are very low though. Take a peek in RIFs website here, my car is on the first page to see how low with a 6x13 8 spoke and 185 048s. If yours are anywhere near that tight you will struggle with standard offsets.

Good luck

Thanks Martin. I have race stays on mine which put the wings pretty close to the tyre. With standard Caterham wings, fitting wheels with 185/60s is a bit of a fiddle. Please could you measure the width of the wings for me - at the widest part.

Cheers.

Hi Shaun

Sorry for delay

Wings are max 240mm wide external measurement

The stays are about 15mm wide + tyres at 215 doesnt leave much room.

If you want any photos i'll pop out to the garage, just blatmail me your email address.

Still hoping to do Curborough so you could look then *idea*

What rim were you thinking of using 🤔 do you know offset 🤔

Cheers Martin. I'll be at Curborough so can take a peek then. Looked at Rob Margel's wings this weekend which are DITP items and it looks like 215s will just about fit.
