Tonycaterham
More numpty wiring questions! Can I remove the underdash black diagnostic plug and associated wiring on the caterham wiring diagram it is designated J1962. Edited to say I do NOT have an ignition key and no blib immobiliser just a flick switch and button. If anyone knows how ~I can remiove the actual underdash immobiliser unit without upsetting the ECU I'd love to know! In pursuit of a simpler loom! mav
If you're running a mems ECU, you need the immobiliser as I understand, otherwise the ECU will not acivate. Even if the immobilier has been set to never arm, you still need it to send a valid code to the ecu for it to work...
Tonycaterham
Mav, I presume the only way to get rid of the Immobiliser is to go over to an emerald (or similar) ECU so I can junk the mems ECU AND the immobiliser? Tony L7 EVL
rj
And, if you're running MEMS, you want it for troubleshooting
Slipper man
Do not remove the diagnostic plug! You never know when you will need it to tell you what has gone wrong.
Tonycaterham
Right that settles it it's staying until I can afford an Emerald unit 😬 Thanks Tony L7 EVL
