Steve Cragg
I have recently fitted some new 8" 8 spoke anthracite wheels to my car replacing the original 6" minilites. Wheels seemed to fit fine with no obvious problems. Tried to move the car today for the first time since fitting and ther was a nasty graunching sound. At first I thought it was the dedion ears and ground these back to clear but further investiagtion revealed that the drop link from the ARB is rubbing against the inside corner of the rim. I can't see an obvious way to sort it without some major changes. Has anyone come across this before and if so how did you solve it? RFC1
take off the arb drop links and fit them on the inside . (if that makes sence).
Peter Carmichael
Have you got the "above the diff" ARB or the "below the diff" ARB. The "below the diff" ARB was introduced to give clearance on wider wheels.
Steve Cragg
I've got the above the diff ARB fitted. The bottom swivel joint housing of the drop link is on the outside of the ear and stands quite proud hence the clash. Fitting inside as RFC1 suggests would solve it I think - have to have a look to see. Are there any downsides to doing this? Paul McKenzie
RFC's method is the one we all use - no downsides that I've heard of, or experienced , except on mine I can't use the hardest ARB setting, but I don't want to anyway Paul Edited by - Paul McKenzie on 5 Nov 2007 08:46:
