Fishy Dave
Hi, I've been noticing a few drops of oil around the rear end of the car. It's hard to see exactly where it's coming from, I'll jack the car up and have a better look tomorrow. Assuming the seals have gone, I'd like to be able to top the oil level up for the moment. So, which type of LSD is likely to be on my car? It's a '96 1400 SS, ex racer (BOSS old car). Which oil does it need in the diff? How do I fill it? I notice the boot floor is loose, so I can get access from above easy enough. Many thanks, Dave New owner of BOSS
Allen Payne
It may just be leaking from the the breather on the top of the diff. Filling is easiest by removing the boot floor and using a pipe & funnel to fill from above.
Nifty
Were the academy cars (of which I presume this was one) fitted with LSDs 🤔 Assuming you have an LSD then it is almost certainly going to be a ZF if installed by CC. If so then the oil recommended by Road and Race who prepare the LSDs is a Ford oil, the part code for which I have somewhere. Keep off the straight and narrow 😬 Edited by - Nifty on 21 Jul 2007 16:00:
