Couple of daft Qs on pcs:

1) Is there any good reason to keep an old operable hard drive when throwing out your old pc? I wondered if it could be used to good effect to add data storage to a new one.

2) Any way to boost a laptop's storage by using the same hardrive externally somehow?

If you buy a new PC you should be able to add the old hard drive as a second drive internally, dependant on your new PC of course.

Or you can install it in a USB caddy which enables it to be used as an external drive.

Or you can buy a couple of leads of ebay o connect it to usb and power, not pretty though as the drive is exposed, but useful if you only want to transfer the data.
