New Type Water Rail - K

Anyone swapped an older type water rail, that sort of bends around the rear of the engine, for a new type that finishes where it connects to the block

 

If so, did you have to extend the heater hose, as it currently fits on the end of the rail, and the new fitting looks like its positioned before the connection to the block. Also the positioning of the temp sensor etc are in different places, but I assume there is enough slack in the loom to move those.
