Graham Sewell
I have not driven my Seven much this year (about 3 trips in 5 months since I serviced the car including brake fluid change). The calipers are the AP 4-pot ones in black - so they should stop the car with very little effort. At the weekend I noticed that the brakes did not stop the car as well as I remembered. Could this be: a. the pads are glazed and just need a damned good workout? b. the pistons are seizing? c. my memory is going? The pedal is not spongy - it is almost rock hard. I could get the front wheels to lock but only if I really stood on the pedal - and I mean to the point where my 4-point harnesses were taking some strain. Sheds Moderator
Graham, I suspect the pads are stuck in the sliders owing to a bit of corrosion. A strip, clean and regrease should see to it.
