Ian Barkley
Any thoughts? Been busy since I got back from France a few weeks ago 3000miles to Provance, La Foie and back, put the car in the garage and it will not fire on turn over... I've charged the battery and the starter is turning it over OK. There seems to be petrol in the tank but not a squeek! I've got a skip at the end of the drive but would like to get it working for the week end. Ian
rj
assuming it's an injected car: Fuse for fuel pump or ecu? Inertia switch? /regin
Ian Barkley
RJ it is a K series, I've tried the inertia switch but I'll try the fuses, thanks [i'm a bit scared of injector systems, and don't know what to do with them] Thanks Ian
ewenm
When you turn the ignition on (but not all the way to start) do you hear the whirr of the fuel pump priming? Project BUMBLEBEE lives on!

rj
It could in fact also be you crank position sensor that has become "dirty" by small pieces of iron. If this happens the engine may well run until it's stopped. Then it does not induce sufficient signal for the ECU to detect when you're cranking... Even if this happens the pump will whine briefly when you trun the key. /regin
Ian Barkley
Thanks I'll give it a try, the skip should be gone tomorrow... Cheers Ian
