Well I have had problems with this build but right now it looks great and I feel chuffed that i've managed to get the car to this stage with out to much assistance. I just cant wait to drive it http://caterham160.blogspot.co.uk

All I have really to do is start it (fingers crossed)

Simon, does this sound familiar? 

Petrol in 3/4 of a tank,key in ignition make sure imobliser is off ,turn key to postion 2 press start button. engine turns over the belts are spinning around i've also checked the butterfly type valve (behind the large pipe from intercooler) thats works but not starting not even a bite. I'm thinking either no fuel getting through or there's an electrical problem.Everything on the dash works lights ,gauges etc. when it cranks over the oil pressure goes up to just under 4. I'm not to great with the technical stuff and I can see this getting sorted at the PBC. I'm not going to worry about it to much just would have been nice to get it started. before it went.

Yes, sounds similar to me... At first Caterham thought that it was the ECU. They sent me another but still no joy.

I notice an unhealthy high pitched whine (and perhaps arcing) near the engine block when the key is in position 2.

I think mine is beginning to look like a PBC case too. *grumpy*

I have just looked your youtube video That could have been me yesterday! I have the same noise from the same place,looks like we may have the same problem. Did you send a link to derek for his thoughts?

Hello Mike,

Yes , I did send the link. I have not heard back yet, but it would be worth letting Derek know that exactly the same happens to you. (Or perhaps that noise is correct??).

By the way, I don't know if you have noticed but there is quite a lot of correspondence amongst 160 owners on the very first page of my blog. Some of it maybe useful to you.
