Spotted around mid-day Sunday 12/03/23 red Seven on A22 just about to turn east onto the A25.  I was the grey Seven you followed along the A22 Caterham By-Pass.

Hope you had as good a blat as I did.

  2. Hi Andrew - thanks for the info.  But there are a few small problems - they don't give you a specific McGard part number - they list six, all suffixed SL, whereas elsewhere they appear to be SU, so you can't check out other suppliers, they're twice the price of Halfords, even without the Club discount, and currently they don't have them in stock.

So I'm still stuck, and need the actual part number of a set that have been fitted to a Seven.

  3. Stu and SM25T - I've looked up McGard nuts on both Halfords and the company site - they give part numbers (for instance 24157SU) rather than saying which car they fit.  Could you please tell me what the part number is?

  4. Thanks, guys.  We did everything suggested on here (except JK's Plans B and C - maybe at a later date when we feel a bit more adventurous!).  Lifted the front high enough that the tyre carrier on the back nearly touched the floor.  And it all worked.

JK - don't know if we were lucky or what, but everything seemed to be a perfect fit.  The only things we had to adjust were the connections to the fan and fan switch - and all that entailed was cutting and refitting the cable ties to give a little extra length.  But I'll keep an eye on the hose fittings, just in case.

  5. I've had to have a helicoil fitted for the sump plug due to impact damage.  First attempt the helicoil and plug pulled out when tightened.  Second attempt it holds, but weeps oil.

So I'm after a replacement Caterham Rover 1.8 K Series wet sump.
