  1. Thanks Jonathan. I thought putting it up on ramps, but was too lazy :-)
  2. Should have said - Thanks Ian. I've done precious few miles over the last 3-4 years cos of too much work, especially overseas trips during the summer. I'm hoping to remedy that this year, starting with the Fish'n'chip run.
  3. Thanks SM25T. I haven't got a bleed tee or bleed bolt. I opened the heater valve (was closed before) - both heater hoses got equally hot and after quite a while the bottom hose into the radiator got hot as well. Hopefully that's fixed it. Many thanks for your help. Tim
  4. I've replaced the hose, but on running the top hose gets hot whilst the bottom hose into the radiator says cold. Seems there's still air in the system. How do I get rid of it please>
  5. Hi all, I've just had an email from my wife to say her RX8 battery has died. Can anyone advise where best to buy a replacement in the South Croydon area? Thanks, Tim
  6. Piston wind back? I've always used a piece of wood (across the piston) and a G-clamp. The larger the car, the larger the piece of wood and G-clamp, etc... It's never failed me yet
  7. So then, it turned out to be no more than the Croydon branch of Jayar selling me a totally duff battery I lobbed a fresh one in this morning and it started straightaway, despite not being started since around October. Good car 🥰 bad Jayar Thanks for the advice, Tim
  8. Just 10v across the battery without any loading on it
  9. Thanks Ian. Yes, ignition light is on, no fuel pump whirr. To be honest I'm beginning to think the new battery I bought yesterday is a dud - 12v turn in to 10v far too quickly given the low power that's being withdrawn. Thanks all Tim
  10. Curiouser and curiouser. The battery's now charged - lights, horn, etc work, but not a peep from the ignition. It took a while of playing with the immobiliser buttons on the keyfob to get the red immobiliser light to go out. I've tried the ECU reset microswitch a few times, all to no avail. Any ideas?? Ian - might you have 10 minutes when in the area later today? Thanks all, Tim
  11. Thanks so far guys - looks like my new battery has a 3-year warranty but no power in it I'll charge it up and see how that goes. Tim
  12. I've just put in a new battery (last one dead) and have tried starting up, but all I get is a red ignition light and nothing else, no lights, horn, etc. The battery's new but the car hasn't been used since around September. It's a 2006 Roadsport, Rover K. Any ideas? Thanks, Tim
  13. Thanks all, I got one from Jayar's near Croydon - not the cheapest but a lot easier than having to sort out how to be at home for a delivery. Tim
  14. Thanks all - and that's a kind offer Ian. I guess this is the one to go for: http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=14752 I'll do it that way, then. Tim
