  1. In a similar boat. Any views in the Bilstein conversion set from Caterham? https://caterhamparts.co.uk/live-axle/262-bilstein-springdamper-conversion-kit-live-axle-1999-onwards.html

    A frame bushes

Evening, changing my A-Frame bushes and can't get the holes to realign. Tried tilting the diff with a jack but only succeed in raising the whole car! Any advice? Thanks.
  4. Think they might be getting rare now but if anyone has spare/unwanted old style S3 non hi-vis doors (driver's door in particular) I'd be keen to hear from you. Thanks, Sid
  5. Actually, if you could let me know the price for the chrome lamps too that'd be good - forgot I'd miss the reflection! Cheers, Sid
  6. Hi, How much are you asking for the black headlights and the half doors pls? Thanks, Sid
  7. Got it! Small stone stuck behind the disc :o) Must've been when I passed the road dressing roadworks. Refilled the trunnions while I was on but discovered offside front has a bit if a wobble so will get bearings checked at next service. Phew!
  8. For me it's a noise on turning not on braking. Could be a stone trapped somewhere as I went through some road dressing in progress. Can't see any marks on front of disc so will remove wheel when I get a chance and have a root about.
  9. Hi, can't offer any help but I'm having the same trouble, so would be grateful if anyone has any ideas. Seems to worsen with load rather than steering angle, ie if accelerating while turning the noise gets worse.
  10. Next to a Morgan (Plus 8?). Lovely day for it :o)
  11. About 1645. Looked lovely - considerably cleaner than mine at the moment :o)

    engine fire

Ah, well apart from the louvres bit it's just the same - don't open the bonnet fully, just pop it enough to get the extinguisher nozzle in.

    engine fire

Carry an extinguisher somewhere handy i.e. not in the boot - you won't have time for faffing with poppers, Velcro and rummaging among whatever you've got in there. Squirt the extinguisher down the bonnet louvres - don't whip the bonnet off and give the fire lots of air to chew on. Be fully insured, in case it's a proper BBQ.
  14. Thanks very much for the very detailed info I have a small confession though - while doing another little job I noticed the rubber washers on the cycle wing had perished away and that the wing had been clattering up and down the screw between wing stay and screw head, to the extent that it's now cracked from hole-to-hole. Now I've made a new pair of rubber washers, the noise I thought had been coming from the FR shock magically appears to have stopped and the ride seems not quite as bad as I thought Obviously I was paying more attention to what I was hearing than to what I was feeling. Still think the bushes could do with a refresh as the bits I can see look pretty tired, but I'll hold off on large scale expenditure for a bit - other than replacing the front wing!
